Ticks in your backyard.
Ticks live in some of our favorite outdoor places; like grassy fields, the woods, gardens and nature parks. Ticks need blood to survive, so they choose to live in habitats frequented by potential mammal hosts. Areas with dense deer populations are often tick hot spots.
Our barrier treatments eliminates mature ticks on contact; however let a Mosquito Squad representative know if any of the following apply to your family or property:
For the most comprehensive tick control, our technicians utilize a combination of our traditional barrier treatments and tick tubes. Our barrier treatment will eliminate adult ticks on contact while tick tubes are placed in key areas on your property, twice a season, to eliminate ticks at their nymph stage.
Fleas and your pets.
Fleas are tiny, flat, wingless, blood-sucking insects that are an annoyance to people and pets alike. They also can carry and transmit tapeworms, serious diseases and are the leading cause of skin problems in domestic dogs. Anemia may also result from flea bites in extreme circumstances.
Although they can’t fly, fleas have powerful rear legs and can jump to extraordinary lengths. There are many types of fleas, all of which reproduce rapidly and profusely. Different species gravitate toward different hosts. However, if they are hungry enough, fleas will feast on almost any animal. Despite its name, the ordinary cat flea is by far the most common flea that bothers dogs. Dogs become infested if they live in warm climates where good flea prevention isn’t followed. Dogs can also get fleas by having contact with other animals that have a flea problem.
Be sure to let a Squad representative know if you have concerns about fleas in your yard and we can customize your package to ensure we are addressing your flea issues.
